Established in February 1982, Bharathidasan University was named after the great revolutionary Tamil poet, Bharathidasan. The university's motto, "We will create a brave new world," is based on the words of Bharathidasan's poem. The university was recognised by UGC on November 26, 1984. As per the NIRF ranking 2023 under the “University” category, the Bharathidasan University stands in the 41st position. The university is also accredited with A+ grade. It has 432 acres of main campus in semi-urban area and 39.99 acres of land in Khajamalai Campus. The university has 24 autonomous colleges, 122 non-autonomous colleges, 11 approved institutions, and 01 uni-faculty institution affiliated to it. The following degrees are offered for admission to Bharathidasan University: BA, BBA, B.Com, B.Sc, MHRM, and B.Voc. and B.Tech+M.Tech. The university has set an eligibility criteria for all Bharathidasan University courses. To get admission to Bharathidasan University management programmes, one must pass the TANCET, GMAT, MAT, CAT, or GATE entrance test. Following selection and the counselling procedure, the candidate is given that seat. Then the applicant must pay the entrance fee and complete the Bharathidasan University admission process.
